I was born in Minden, La. I began playing professionally at the age of 14. By the time I finished High School, I had played Jazz in Big Bands and Dixieland Groups, Funk and R&B in my own group Spectrum, many musicals with the Shreveport Civic Light Orchestra, Centenary College Musicals, performed with the Shreveport Symphony, and composed and taught drum line music for my high school band. While attending high school and college, I was selected best drummer at all 6 jazz festivals I attended. I was also a member of an All State Band or Orchestra all four years of High School. I attended college at Baylor University and CSUN in Los Angeles. In 1981 I won the Percussive Arts Society Mallet Completion on Vibes and Marimba.
After college, I remained in Los Angeles for 16 years before moving to the Austin area. While in Los Angeles I was able to work in all facets of the Music Business: Television and Movies, Theater, Studio, Jingles, Touring and Education.

One of the biggest recording and touring experiences was having my own band Boxing Ghandis. We recorded on the Atlantic Label and were fortunate to do the 1995 United States Tour opening for the Dave Mathews Band. Another great experience of touring has been seeing the world. My travels have taken me to: Canada, Brazil, Buenos Aires, Mexico, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Aruba, Curraco, Bermuda, Panama, Bahamas, Barbados, England, Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Denmark, Israel, Jordon, Crete, Maldives and Seychelle Islands, Scotland,Japen, China, Korea, Taiwan, Phillippines, and 47 of the 50 United States.

Currently:
I continue to keep busy these days, teaching, studio sessions, freelancing, working on staff and performing at the Lake Hills Church, touring with Jerry Jeff Walker, Marvin Hamlish, Robert Kline and Lucie Arnez, and spending as much time as possible with my 3 sons and wife.
